For once, a Conquistador is a very good thing. Cocktails do take their time coming from the bar to the restaurant, though, so place your next drink order before you've finished your last libation.
Love the grilled octopus & cocktails. ("Flaca" with st. George Botanivore gin, lemongrass tonic, + poma aurea hard cider AND the "Sutter Smash" with four rosesbourbon, cynar, apricot, mint, + lemon)
While the view is great, the focus remains on the bar and open kitchen. The menu covers tapas, open-face sandwiches and family-style shared plates. Most dishes are strong, the paella is a must try. Read more
Mojito with grey salt “Air” and Sun Never Sets are incredible drinks! Try all of the skewer bites and the croquettes and smoked salmontoast; skip the dessert and go to Humphrey Slocombe instead
I love a good grilled Octopus and Coqueta has one of the best in the city. Also try their Pluma (grilled pork) - it is so tender and sweet. Drizzle their honeychili glaze on top for the perfect bite.
Barman Joe Cleveland may take the prize for most ambitious cocktail menu: G&T's, sherry drinks, porrones, tipples, molecular-gastronomy creations like liquid-nitrogen sangria and frozen ginmeringue!
The bar is mostly first-come, first-serve, with some stools and a counter. Go for one of the Spanish-style gin and tonics, flavored with fruits and botanicals, or a nice glass of sangriaon tap. Read more
Some of the best Sangria I have ever had (and I try Sangria at every Tapas restaurant I go to) and the Patatas Bravas were excellent, if a little non-traditional.
Make sure to snag a reso weeks in advance! The Arroz Cromosa, the Croquetas and the Sunny Side Up Egg were all to die for. Pair them with a perfectly crafted signature cocktail and you're golden.
Such a cute spot, right by the water. The cocktails are amazing and the tapas - superb! Get a Galleon and a side of patatas bravas and you're set. Those shrimp are great too
Snagged a seat at the bar! Sunny side up egg with shrimp is a must! Also, whole calamari, crispy shrimp and chickpeapancake and patatas bravado are divine! Drinks are off the hook!
Chef Michael Chiarello serves some of the best Spanish tapas in the country. I especially enjoy the house cured meats and any of their pintxos with a chilled beer from Barcelona.
Try as many things as you can. Blue cheeseice cream with apply pie/ tart, the Bronzino, the peppers with shredded jambon, Marchegiano/jambon/apricot preserves, beetskewers... All amazing.
Was here for lunch and tried a mixture of the hot tapas. Wasn't mad about the "sunny side up". The duck & pork meatballs were good and the Brussels sprouts were amazing
If you're not going to the restaurant for dinner, try hard to get a seat at the bar! The bartenders are great fun and constantly whipping up drinks with the most amazing presentations! (Smoke, fog)
Literally everything is amazing. Wood grilled octopus, sea urchin and iberico lardon, sunny side up egg with shrimp, and the olive poached head on gulf prawns. Can't go wrong with anything.
You cannot go wrong with the sunny side huevos (w grilled shrimp, fried potatoes and topped w a chorizo sauce). So popular it usually stays in the rotation. .
Prepare to battle the friendly chaos in the closed-in patio if you don't have a reservation. Fried shrimp is to die for. Stick to the cocktails for one-of-a-kind flavor combinations.
Absolutely superb! Friendly and helpful staff all around. Definitely recommend the potatoes bravos, lamb/duck meatballs, paella, and churros to finish.
Coqueta means “flirt” or “infatuation” in Spanish, and represents Michael Chiarello and his team’s exploration and interpretation of Spanish Cuisine, wine and inspired cocktails, while highlighting the bounty of Northern California.
