Stay for a couple hours and enjoy the atmosphere as it is very expensive for just coffee and ice cream! Also be warned, there is a 6€ surcharge per person if the music is playing.

Live music playing at the entrance is charged automatically (we were charged €24) without option. Be warned. Otherwise, nice drinks but you can get good/better quality drinks elsewhere cheaper.
Excellent buffet happy hour from 6.30pm-9pm with tramezzini sandwiches, polpette meatballs, a hot dish of pasta, fruits and desserts. Don't miss the "spritz al bitter" (Campari cocktail)

The icecream right after the security check is REALLY good, and not overpriced when compared to prices in Venice.
From this airport to the boat taxi station, it takes 7 to 10 minutes to walk
Night buses run all night! If you park your car or get your hotel in Mestre you can go back anytime.

Get the multiple day pass (I bought the 72 hour pass) for the transportation with the vaporettos. It's cheaper as one ticket for the tourists costs 6,30€. (for the locals only 1,30€).
Take the "Get Carried Away" bus for Venice. They use the motorway unlike the Ryanair bus.
Nothing at gate, so wait upstairs where cafe & shops as long as possible (before passport control). If queue for cafe unbearable big shop 'hub' does cold drinks, sandwiches and crisps with no queue.
Very small airport. No free wi-fi, no duty-free shop only four shops after safety control. But the working stuff is very gentle and educated people
Extremely poor service! Was waiting for an hour for "express bus, meant to ride every 20 minutes" - nothing arrived, nobody announced anything!!! Took regular bus No5 for the same price!

If you need to use a toilet here, the public ones cost 1,50€. For the same price you can have a standing espresso coffee at Cafè Quadri and use their comfortable toilets at the first floor.
Stroll in St Mark's square and optional visit of its monuments inclunding:The Doge's Palace(the visit lasts 1h30min) and St. Mark's Basilica(visit time 30 min-follow the instrucions at the netrance).
If you sit in any of the old famous cafes at the "piazza" and there is live orchestra, you pay extra for the music.

This must-see bridge passes over the Rio di Palazzo designed by the famous Antoni Contino. Called as such because it's the last view of Venice that convicts got to see before being imprisoned.
The bridge of sighs appears at the end of From Russia with Love (1963), although the two lead characters only appear with the bridge backprojected.
Tasty food I must day. Tuna pizza is not in the menu but u can request for it. To those who like a little bit of spicy, ask for chilli oil. Menu of the day is good.
Reliable, affordable, and delicious, this Neapolitan chain is a welcome addition amongst the dubious eateries around San Marco. Pizzas are made-to-order and arrive at the table bubbling hot!

Some of the best-preserved and most impressive Byzantine mosaics are located on northwestern corner of the Basilica. Best of all? They are free to admire and photograph! No flash, of course.

Good place to hang out while waiting for your train due to its close proximity to the station. Free wifi and so-so food.
Fast-food Italian style: self-service restaurant with low prices, but excellent quality simple food. Close to train stations and has free Wi-Fi Internet, for that reason is crowded with tourists.
One of my favorite spots to have a great aperitivo without spending too much (only 4€ for an all-you-can-eat buffet). Great place to hear the Venetian dialect too.
I was actually a bit underwhelmed by the food offerings of then apperitivo. Great drinks though, and a wonderful place: a lovely secluded campiello opening up to Canale Grande.

A beautiful little community of colourful houses and people sitting on their porches and piazzas. Very picturesque and worth the extra boat ride from Murano.
