Food is upscalepub food, great beer list, knowledgeable barkeeps, good music and TVs to watch a game. Every seat is full and they say it's not even busy. The arancini are delish!

Kind and knowledgeable staff that can help you navigate the beer menu. Tater tots were delicious. The place has a winter-ish vibe - too dark and with few available tables if you want to sit outside.
Serious connoisseurs ask for the beer booklet. It contains the secret beers! They also smartly have a good menu with more than just traditional pub fare including tasty flatbreads and more.
Beer selection is INSANE! Dimly lit and relaxing vibe inside (upstairs from Birch and Barley). Food is good too. My favorite beer bar, period. Always a stop when in DC.
If you aren't sure what kind of beer to get, just ask the bartenders. They are great at helping to find something you'll like, and will usually give you a splash before you commit to full pour
Churchkey is the benchmark of brewpub in DC. Sitting above the restaurant Birch and Barley, Churchkey host as many of 55 new and unique beer per week. The number of barkeeps shows this is important.
Fantastic in every way. Tartare, pate and pastas were all excellent. Beer menu is incredible (and even bigger upstairs). Awesome bartenders and staff. Love it
Knowledgeable staff if you're not sure how to navigate the massive beer menu. Really crowded on the weekend, come during the week if you want to have a conversation over a delicious beer.
Great atmosphere and very large bar space. This place was crowded on a Tuesday which is a great sign. The Asian wings were tasty but had too much sauce. Awesome beer selection!
Definitely one of my favorite spots in DC. Great for a casual night. Despite how packed it gets, it's usually quite easy to grab a drink from the bar tenders
Yes. Just yes. Amazing beer selection, fantastic bar staff--friendly and always ready with a recommendation. (Although really, how could you go wrong with such a finely curated selection?)
Love sitting at the hightop tables near the windows in the afternoon when the sunshine is streaming in. The selection of draft beers and knowledge of the staff is incomparable.
Massive number of excellent beers, some of them very rare--including, the day I was there, Rothaus Pils. Only the second place in US I have seen with that beer.
With so many beers on offer, Bailey couldn't possibly settle on just one wing dish, so he created three homemade sauces for his semolina-crusted, twice-fried wings. Read more
The bartenders know their shit. Tell them what your favorite beer is, and they'll get you something amazing. You can also order 4 oz drinks so you can taste them all.
Everything here is the best. Always. But watch out for Friday and Saturday nights. It's standing room only and totally rough. Check out Drafting Table up the street if you're looking for more space.
An upstairs/downstairs, beer-focused restaurant and gastropub. At Birch & Barley, order the cavatelli and floundertartare; at Church Key, Tater Tots and charcuterie.
It kinda goes without saying... this is the best place to drink beer in DC. Take advantage of the staff's knowledge and try as many new brews as you can!
Really great beer selection divided into easy-to-skim categories. If you can't pick just one, go for the option to get 4oz beer flights. Plus the disco fries were delicious!

They have a large tap list- 20+ the night we were there. But they were almost all from two breweries- one in Michigan and one in Florida. I was hoping for local
Awesome, I mean awesome tap beer (~50) selection, cool bar scene with good food to boot. Strongly recommend when in DC. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
The small plates are delicious: meatballs on a bed of lentils, all of the flatbreads, the tater tots taste like fried balls of mashed potatoes! HEAVEN!
