Mr. Cherrier's croissant is a soft scroll of pale-yellow, butter-scented pastry tissues that are a pleasure to pluck apart.
Mr. Gaudard's croissants have a gossamer glaze of sugar that brightens the taste of the butter in the pastry. When pieces are torn off, the fluffy interior remains fused to the crunchy outer layers.
The downy golden crescent I tucked into lived up to Mr. Lignac's somewhat hyped reputation; it just might be the lightest croissant in town.

Delicious, creative makis and a really nice atmosphere. The Smokey was by far my favorite. The place started to get crowded after 8, so go earlier.
Perfect place to listen to a professional jazz band. Go there after midnight thirty it is free you just have to take a drink!

Fascinating museum. Well worth a detour from the big-time Paris tourist haunts. The Bilal exhibition is worth the entry price too, though pity the museum shop doesn't carry any of his work.
