Drunk, hungry, and in need of pure delicious goodness? You've found the spot. Ok you don't need to be drunk, but it definitely adds to the experience. Try the tenderizer, it won't disappoint.
The Tenderizer might be the most expensivesandwich here, but how can you go wrong with four layers of cheese, bacon, and chicken tenders on buttered Texas toast with Ranch dipping sauce?
For an indulgent sandwich, get The Popper: bronzed sourdough is stuffed with cheddar, cream cheese, emerald shards of jalapenos, and crisp slivers of bacon. Served with a side of chipotle mayo.
Whenever I'm out late on a weekend and feeling a bit hungry, I always end up back here. You can grab a drink while chowing down on some amazing grilled cheese and sides. I recommend the Tenderizer!
I haven't gotten my food yet, but I ordered the one with macaroni and cheese on it. It really sounds good, so I guess I would definitely recommend getting that. This is what I think it will look like.
The Tradicion was on point. The chorizo and jalapenos were fresh, spicy, and oh so delicious. The fried pickles were also very good - crispy, but not too much batter.
The Caprese was so delicious! The staff is super friendly and the environment has great energy. For drinks, try the "Not your dad's" root beer and the strawberry cidar. Amazing!
Go there for the cheap, delicious drinks and the grilled cheese! Don't get the soups (even with that groupon...just forget em) and only get pizza if you can't handle epic grilled cheese. TENDERIZER!!!
If you like grilled cheese, this is the place for you. It gets packed after 2am, but worth the wait. There are options for your cheese-hating friends as well.
Get a side of tater tots with chipotle mayo sauce! Menus are all coated and sticky. I suggest using the one on the wall, considering you're eating with your hands.
The Frenchie was pretty awesome! The fries were a tad soggy, but the melty cheese, thick-sliced bread & crunchy bacon made up for it. Tomato soup is spicy. And all drinks in the bar are just $4!
The Mac is a mess of a sandwich, just like all the others. And yes, the combination of Merkts cheddar, American cheese, elbow noodles and the cutest cup of spicy tomato soup is very hard not to like. Read more
Grilled cheese sandwiches with unorthodox fillings—think tater tots, mac 'n' cheese and chicken tenders—were made for a satisfying post-bar meal. Read more
The Mac is so good. When you are done and need to digest, go to 3110 N. Sheffield (Studio BE, one block south) for a pH improv show! Fridays and Saturdays at 10pm and 12am. BYOB!
I would ignore the complaint about the beer being expensive, while miller lite is $4, all beer is $4 as well. So stop drinking beer flavored water and drink better quality beer :)
I had The Frenchie (american cheese, mozzarella, cheddar cheese sauce, classic thick cut french fries, bacon and chives on sour dough) with some sour cream and onion and it was AWESOME.
Chessie's is more of a grub spot than a bar. Yes they sell beer and have tv's but this place is all about the food; Sandwiches & pizza. Inside is REALLY SMALL. San Fran bar on belmont
