Really legit bourbon old fashioned at the bar. Uni pasta is a Must Have™ and the sage-butter scallops are pretty great too. Not sure why the menu looks like a prop out of GTA Vice City tho.
Exciting market-driven Italian cuisine, but the thing that you might like the most about this restaurant is the service. The team will make you feel like you're the guest of honor at a very hip party. Read more
Charlie bird has a lunch special which is 32 dollars for a small plate and a pasta. We had the crudo which was light and fresh and the cacio e Pepe which was simple and delicious!
Yes, get the duck eggspaghetti with uni. Get two it's so good. But don't overlook the other small plates and pastas the razor clams, fluke with spicy oil, stracciatellatoast, and bacon cappellacci.
They have the best burrata I've ever tasted. The cheese they use is imported from Italy! Get the farro salad it's amazing! And for dessert get the warm chocolate budino!
Order the pistachio- and mint-laden farro salad, tripe-topped toast, and duck-egg spaghetti finished with guanciale and lobes of fresh uni and pair it with a bottle of the 2005 Kuenhof Sylvaner. Read more
Hands down 1 of our favorite spots in NYC. Razor Clams top Sarah’s single best bite list. Also recommend Farro, Uni Spaghetti, Chicken & Gelati. Bonus: can order half bottle from incredible wine list!
Charlie Bird is a hiprestaurant, but in a welcoming, unintimidating way. for brunch I highly recommend the farro salad, and the patio seating if the weather is cooperating!
Great service. Food was superb too. We got the burratta toast. My wife got the pappardelle with duck ragu and I got the sea bass. Save room for the chocolate bundino. O - the wine list is awesome!
Besides the food and wine, which every time are beyond incredible, there is design, music, bits of humor and the characters behind the joint to enjoy too. Charlie Bird has a personality and I love it.
Good pastas, even better seafood. Seafood is fresh and served almost Japanese-style (raw and seasoned like sashimi). The razor clams and hamachi were both great.
Everyone already says so but it's true: the farro salad is not to miss. Chicken liver toast is also killer. Ask for a wine recommendation—they know their grapes. Hip hoptracks are a plus.
Finally tried and actually enjoyed! The resy fee is kind of ridiculous but we did get “free” champagne. Both pastas and mains are good. Not usually a chicken person but would recommend for main
Everything tastes incredibly fresh and delicious. The fluke and scallopcrudos are amazing. Same with the one marrow. Tagliatelle with porkragu is a must! The atmosphere is a lot of fun too!
"The sweetest scallops with that fresh, clean textural bite, a hint of lemon zest and chives. Then top it off with a finger-licking-good, amazing dumping of hot brown butter." Chef Russell Jackson Read more
One of the hottest new restaurants to hit the downtown scene, the food certainly lives up to the hype. Be sure to order: razor clams, rigatoni, duck eggspaghetti and the chicken.
The carbonara and gnocchi are amazing!!! All the sides are excellent too - broccoli rabe and cauliflower are awesome. Burratatoast is tasty and the chicken is very good. Fun atmosphere & great music
“The food is comforting, with some ingenious additions, like uni in a creamy duck-egg spaghetti, and mint and pistachios in a lemony farro salad.” Read more
Outdoor dining in summer; cozy for dates in winter. Bar seating. Crispybrussel sprouts, farro salad, grilled octopus, roasted artichokes, black bass. Props for awesome art by Lyle Owerko.
Everything here is excellent. Great wine, tasty food and good music. Portions are small but the deliciousness makes up for it. Loved the octopusfish and the burrata.
Owner Robert Bohr, sommelier Grant Reynolds, and the rest of the team will make you feel like you're the guest of honor at a very hip party. [Eater 38 Member]
Farro salad was incredible. Well beyond expectation: Farro, fava beans, scallions, grilled shallots, roasted pistachios, radishes, parmesan, with lemon, salt and olive oil flavors. Amazing.
had the pasta special, which was so incredibly salty!!! like chef must have knocked over a bucket of salt... the razor clams and scallopcrudo, however, we're very good
Attentive, knowledgable, friendly service. Excellently curated wine list. A menu that doesn't try too hard, but preparations that surprise with every dish. Perfect in every regard.
We ordered simple pasta one with truffle, and the other one with tomato sauce. The pasta was home made, but it was fishy have a bit taste of eggs, service was extent and they canceled the truffle pasta.
Get the fluke starter. Best I've ever tasted. The chicken for the main is pretty fucking fantastic. And the plum + mascarponedessert is perfect. There's your whole order. Go!
Immaculate has it right.. Wouldn't give it a 9.0 but highly recommend. Razor clams, octopus and crabspaghetti were amazing. I'd also go heavier on apps than mains as chicken was forgettable
Sipping wine out of a priceyZalto stem is an activity typical of more formal surroundings, but at Charlie Bird, you swirl a smoky Rodano chianti riserva while nodding your head to the Notorious B.I.G Read more
Highly recommend the squash blossoms; even if you don't like anchovies, go for it- there's no fishy taste, just a nice touch of umami to bring out the ricotta.
great new spot. they blast Biggie and deliver some first rate grub with solid service. Pastas, suckling pig and chocolate desert with olive oil gelato the highlights.
Service was just ok- I think waiter had to go kill the chicken after we ordered-but it was a damn good roasted chicken. And def the best grilled octopus I've ever had. Get the stracciatellatoast too
Start your night with the farro salad, continue with the duck egg (uni) spaghetti and a side of butternut squash. Wash it down with a bottle of Jordan Salcito's "Girasole".
Don't let the loudtunes and neon menus fool you -- this new Ryan Hardy hotspot boasts refined eats such as vealragu and an impressive wine list long on affordable bottles.
