The mid-to-rear trams are the best to enjoy the tour. I also recommend sitting on the far-left side of the tram to get the most out of the Earthquake stage.
Great place to take out of towners simply for the atmosphere and novelty shops. Although everything here can be bought online or elsewhere for much less it's still a recomendation for the sights.
