- MoiraJuly 28, 2013Had the morel encrusted tofu special and it was unreal. Would highly recommend their brownie and peach cobbler desserts as well. Don't get the special tree cocktail. Tastes like a glade candle smells
- Dev GhoseMay 19, 2013Delicious food, really well flavored. Versatile menu that omnivores will enjoy. The artichoke special starter is very good. Worth the trek to the UWS.
- Andrew LimAugust 25, 2013I'm not vegan or vegetarian but this place was awesome. Risotto special was excellent, they should make it a regular item. Portobello steak also great. Blueberry smoothie also very good.
- Conrad Greiner-BechertJanuary 30, 2018One of New York‘s finest spots for people who prefer natural cuisine without sacrificing taste. The ambience is also suitable for dates.
- Leanne AlyssaDecember 30, 2014The Cajun seitan sandwich and the spaghetti and wheat balls are so good! Excellent service and much larger and cozier than the candle cafe east restaurant
- Leonard NavarroMarch 14, 2013I'm a carnivore, so it took a few visits to this place to get in the groove and take some risks with the menu. I still don't know how to pronounce "seitan" but it's a tasty and healthy addition!
- Aina NYCJuly 25, 2015Loved this place and I'm not vegetarian. The food was really delicious. I would recommend the special plates. The deserts are also a must try!
- Louise VendraminiAugust 8, 2014Looks like a bar and it has also a very good food. The vegetable paella was very tasty! Try also the vegan chocolate cheesecake!
- Matthew MarcoJune 29, 2013The menu is set in austere Times New Roman. Just enough variation and texture that it comes off as classy rather than thoughtless. Linen metallic binders are a nice touch.
- Guan LiMay 29, 2015the ingredients are great. can't say I'm impressed at all, and my tummy isn't satisfied either. But it's a place to impress a date or something, if that person is into vegan/vegetarian dinning.
- Melissa FordJuly 4, 2016My favorite is the spaghetti and wheat balls. Also get the carrot cake...would never be able to tell it's vegan!
- Kelsey NicoleDecember 8, 2013Great atmosphere at this vegan restaurant. Portions look small but end up being filling. Love their living (raw) lasagna and the seaweed salad.
- Try the Cajun Seitan sandwich. Awesome. And for brunch try the Nuevos Rancheros. Their Bloody Mary is the best I've had.
- Berta CFebruary 25, 2016Great service and ambience. Staff with great knowledge of the menu. Flavorsome vegan food but it is pricey.
- Meghan LapidesJuly 28, 2015Really solid vegan food and the best atmosphere of all of the NYC began restaurants.
- Tasting TableAugust 2, 2012Try the house-made ginger ale that stuns with a smack of fresh ginger juice, and the “magical” miso soup-- a restorative broth at its best: Read more
- Chirag PatelDecember 3, 2012Loved the Cajun Seitan sandwich on focaccia. Raw veg and fruit juices and smoothies are great too.
- Denise HNovember 30, 2015Seriously - this is vegan! Try the pomegranate, mole tempeh. So unbelievably great.
- Joshua BoggsJanuary 3, 2018Good ambience, fresh food, but WARNING the live lasagna actually means it’s raw, like a plate of chopped veggies.
- Michael LincolnMarch 9, 2014Bloody mary was worth every penny of the fairly steep $14 price tag. Apparently it was invented by our bartender. Kudos to her!
- Dev GhoseJune 7, 2014get the Indian vegetable cake and the chimichurri portobello mushroom. Very very good.
- Aliya BJanuary 19, 2013I agree, the blonde waiter is really cute! The Flu and Cold fighter is awesome! The Cajun Seitan Sandwich is delish!

- lauren michaeliApril 11, 2012Cajun seitan sandwich is great! House salad with carrot ginger dressing is delish but don't get the quesadilla. That's not good.
- Jenny GregoryFebruary 8, 2014One of the 10 best vegetarian restaurants in New York according to Gothamist
- Fit Chick in The CityAugust 22, 2014This location is much bigger and nicer than the East Side restaurant.
- Avi TavdiMay 28, 2018Ravioli and parmasen eggplant were ok. Risotto not so good. Bana6 chocolate cake was nice.
- Catarina SchallenbachJune 13, 2017Kinda disappointed... The spaghetti has nothing special. The chocolate brownie is good, but I question if it is worth the price.
