A unique shopping experience in an old jail--it really IS an old jail. Lovely patio, and you can get a bottle of wine or a soda and a snack to enjoy there. Nice place to sit and relax.
Open from May through October, this is a remarkably nice museum for a small town. My favorites are the Bevington Mansion and the restored train depot.
Great coffee, pretty cupcakes and desserts, and yes, you can get a sandwich here too.
Totally charming pub, good food (I love the crunchy, skinny onion rings), and if there is a live band, you'll REALLY have a great time.
Know a knitter or crafter? If you bring him or her to Winterset, they'll probably take off on a run to this place. Highly recommended.
