- Artyom FedosovJuly 27, 2016Small hipster spot with good coffee and tasty cookies. Glad to find places like this in Shanghai.
- Try their passionfruit cold brew if available. Very very delicious. I also recommend the flat white. I've been coming to this spot every week for almost 3 years. Cafe del Volcan remains my favourite.
- Micheál Ó BolguidhirJune 5, 2017Went in to hide out from the rain, and found a minimalist cafe with a really relaxed atmosphere, great coffee and nice owners. Bring a book on a rainy day, it's the perfect place for it.Upvoted 1 week ago
- JasonJanuary 20, 2018Great coffee shops not only make fantastic drinks but also popularize the culture, especially when in China… They have free weekly mini coffee events every Thu that can be found via WeChat or website.
- Angela LiuJuly 25, 2016This small cafe is tucked on a street with a number of bars but it is not to he overlooked. They serve a range of coffee from different origins and the baristas are very well trained!
- MichaelApril 16, 2016Real espresso in Shanghai! Gibraltars, flat whites, cappuccinos, and even cold brew. All beans have the roasting date on the menu.
- They moved down the street to a slightly bigger location with more seating. Same consistently great coffee, and they have a WeChat mini-app now too.
- Dedrick KlineJune 27, 2017Small and easy to overlook but amazing! Hand-dripped coffees were great, the affogato was perfect, and the warm chocolate-chip and cranberry cookie was to die for!

- Harika BiliciJanuary 18, 2015Can't count how many coffee shops I walked by till I come here! Even had a mediocre cappuccino break to collect energy 😜 But worth all the effort 😍😋 Ps: Barista just told me they'll open new ones!
- Chris LiewDecember 23, 2013Yes it's indeed one of the best third wave cafés in shanghai. The taste, the crema and even the cup and the small space remind me of how we do coffee in Melbourne. Highly recommended!
- Noah WeissJanuary 9, 2013Best coffee (espresso, capuccino, etc.) In a coffee forsaken city. Roasts its own beans imported exclusively from a plantation in Guatemala.
- maybe the best cappuccino in China. Definitely one of my favorite cafes. Friendly staff and cool interior, selling great blends.
- Allie QuinnSeptember 6, 2014Great selection of coffees from all over the world, French press or drip style. Almost no seating though, be prepared to get take out.
- Alena WooNovember 10, 2015Pour over coffee is really good. Nice little space for working on a very trendy street. The complimentary cookie that comes with each coffee was also really delicious :)
- John BoothAugust 8, 2015Small cafe, perfectly formed coffee. Some of the best coffee in shanghai, they have espresso based drinks and a good range of single origin coffee to choose from.
- Nick KFebruary 13, 2016Such a delicious coffee in SH!!! Best best best!!! But expensive, really expensive. Cafe is small so place to sit there is not always available.
- Fin SedgwickFebruary 21, 2015Espresso, coffee, and cookies or cakes are all great here. One of Shanghai's best little coffee bars - check it out
- Paul FarrellApril 4, 2015One of the best coffees in Shanghai. Worth going out of your way for. Really passionate about their coffee.
- FrankAugust 21, 2012.... Best Location to taste the passion of the freshest roasted coffee in town. A place to learn about what best coffee is about... I Love it
- Andreas SchreiberSeptember 22, 2017Nice little cafe. Good place to work with your laptop if you get one of the few seats.
- Hands down the best coffee in Shanghai. And they accept alipay.
- Harika BiliciOctober 3, 2014Now we are talking. This is a good flat white! Sit outside and watch life happen around you. Great little place.
- Harika BiliciNovember 16, 2014Wifi password: ilovecoffee. Edits to reviews: Flat white-still awesome, cookies- not as crumbly and fresh. Hard to find a seat in the tiny shop and outside it smells a bit like sewage or exhaust 😩
- Jem MaherApril 23, 2016Coffee is GREAT and the cookies are delicious. We live outside of Shanghai and Cafe Volcan is worth the trip in
- Douglon TseFebruary 23, 2015Simple place with good coffee on a street that needs more of what Cafe del Volcan is doing.
- NilsAugust 15, 2012Check out the roast machine in the back of the coffee shop and ask Diana to explain how it works. It's fascinating.
- Sabrina ScottJune 12, 2013Definitely the best coffee in Shanghai! You should also get the Cookie del Volcán - you will not regret it!
- Gie_Chloe EJune 24, 2013Very very small cafe. Be prepared to wait for an available table. Servers speak good English so no miscommunication at all. Above it all, BEST COFFEE IN SHANGHAI!
- Jen HuangApril 5, 2014Great coffee! Checking in on foursquare for the first time gets you a free cookie!
- Matjaz MuhicOctober 11, 2015Hands down the best coffee in Shanghai! One of the best espressos I've ever had. :)
- Bastiaan TerhorstAugust 16, 2014The best coffee I've had in Shanghai. Do note: the foursquare map indication is wrong; look the address up on Baidu maps.
- ScottMarch 22, 2015A little on the pricey side but when you sample one of their extensive range of coffees you'll soon understand why.
- Conrad Greiner-BechertApril 24, 2018Hot chocolate only because the cookie didn’t last long enough to be captured in a photo.
- NilsFebruary 3, 2013Try the Flat White - an Australian specialty somewhere between a cappuccino and a caffe latte!
- john lewisJuly 24, 2013Good. I particularly love how they ripped off the bag design of stump town. But, good coffee.
