At cafecito...from miami with cuban spots everywhere, cafecito mmm. Im back home in nyc. Fried jumbo shrimp and garlic yuca, better than my moms. Tres leches to die for. New go to spot!
Avenue C's Cafecito is closing to the despair of loyal regulars. Sunday will be the last day of service and we highly recommend you check out this joint for some delicious meals before the bitter end. Read more
Pro tip: order the quartered Cuban as your appetizer to split with the table so you can save room for one of their equally delicious entrees. Read more
The veggie empanadas were probably some of the best empanadas I've ever had. Cheesy and delicious! Worth going just to try them. Plantain chips with garlic sauce were good too.
Named after the three milks it's soaked in (evaporated milk, condensed milk, cream), the "tres leches" sponge cake here is better than any I've had in NYC and as good as most I've had in Latin America
If you're willing to take the stroll deep into Alphabet City, Cafecito is definitely worth the footwork. Very cozy & casual. The adobo pork is a solid bet. Extremely satisfying & filling.
Free drink w/ each entree ordered when u check in on Yelp!! Mango margarita is def my recommendation :) (Why is it that when I'm in Alphabet City I wanna sing in the street like I'm Rosario Dawson :p)

Have been waiting for half hour, finally a seat opens up . Had our name down ahead .But some of mofo makes himself at home and takes OUR seats even when he came AFTER us.
The churrasco is ridiculously good, especially with all the accompaniments. Their picadillo is very flavorful and fresh tasting. Skip the appetizers please!! Grouper ceviche, garlic shrimp is ok.
Empanadas were pretty decent, nothing special. I got bamboozled by the server on the supposed "dinner specials" which was not very good and was pricy $$$. I don't get why this place is an 8.8 really..
Food? Delicious! Service? Our waitress was delightful. The drinks were watery, but maybe that's Friday night. The only problem was the petty meanness of the jerk acting as maitre'd.
Authentic soulful cuisine with lighter cooking techniques to the classic dishes of Cuba. Our vibe represents the food of Havana with a fabulous Miami attitude.
