Had an amazing stay here! we were on the 11th floor on the end, great view, clean, great location, quiet, very comfy beds, which made us sleep in! but I loved it & def stay here again!
Large flats teen TVs, incredibly comfy beds, very clean, and charming. Close to the T (green line) and the Common. Only drawback is the quite expensive fee for wifi ($12.50 per device per day).
Years ago there may have been mold. I'm here now, 5/10/2011 and see/smell no mold. Gorgeous, grand hotel. One of my favorites. Check out Sweet, AK cupcake shop on newbury-aboit a half mile stroll
They turn off the A/C when it is cool outside, so it gets warm in the rooms. Ask for a window fan when you check in, and ask to have someone open the window for you since they are bolted shut.
After the renovations, the rooms are very well anointed. Things are brighter, calm and muted colours. Really like the new look. Service is still impeccable.
This is a great hotel. Friendly staff, historical. Room sizes reflect age, but are very nice. Close to the T and a nice shopping district, parks, harbor, etc.
Good location. We have a suite and it's small so I can imagine how small the regular rooms are. The valet parking fee if $51 per day, even if you are a hotel guest.
Lovely building and room was great but stay away from the woman on the tourist trip desk (Carolyn)..she gave us duff info which led us on a wasted trip and costing us more money .. complained
I recommend continuing your hotel search unless you like historic color palettes, laughable elevator algorithms, and hallways that take the space your room so desperately needs.

Yes, it is dated & not "modern" by any means, but everything is clean; service is great; beds are very comfortable. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a decent place to stay while exploring Boston.
People weren't so fat and self righteous as they are now ninety years ago. That's why the rooms are small. It gets the job done; you have a place to rest your head when you're not exploring downtown.
If you stay here, you must invest in the 15th flr rooms (towers level). Updated, free wifi, deluxe continental bfast, evening snacks & hors d'oeuvres, free paper daily if you choose, flat screen plasm
Nice comfortable room. Friendly staff. No wifi in rooms is a WTF, but it's avail downstairs and possible in room if lucky. Excellent location, close to everything.
Staff was courteous and helpful. We experienced free wifi on the 12th floor, not sure if this is because we were close to the towers or if this is a new addition. A nice beautiful old hotel.
Located in a great neighborhood a couple blocks from Boston Commons. Also, happy to say they have wifi now for a nominal daily rate in the hotel rooms.
These rooms feature the Keurig Brewing System. So if you don't like the Paul NewMan's fair trade they offer, bring your favorite K-Cup when you stay here.
Really noisy place with unsettling experience of sharing a room with your neighbours because the walls are so thin. And come on, make the wifi free in the rooms. But, location is super.
This is an example of the grand hotel of yesteryear. It is clean. However, it is in need of some serious infrastructure updates like the electrical. There is no electrical outlet in the bathroom.
It's a historical hotel people, of course it's going to be "dated". Beautiful moldings & fixtures, very well kept despite age. Extremely friendly service.
Basically the place is amazing until you leave the lobby. Broken woodwork, small rooms. I had a “deluxe” king...room didn’t even have a dresser or separate sitting area.
The historic charm and contemporary elegance of the iconic Boston Park Plaza awaits. The cherished Boston landmark hotel has been fully restored and reimagined through a $100 million renovation.
