This place is a)sexy, b)from the Crave Fishbar chef c)date-night perfection. Low lights and accordion lamps with velvet booths and alligator and Ramos gin fizzes from a Mulberry Project cocktailist
Live music (at least on Saturday nights), great cocktails, and good dishes for sharing. Our favorites were the nachos with chicken and the sliders. Bar food, but elevated.
Chef Todd Mitgang is serving moderately-priced New Orleans-inspired fare. The menu has crispy alligator, Low Country ham with biscuits, fried chicken, roasted oysters, and shrimp Fra Diavolo.
Amazing place.. Decoration, food, service.. All was great. They have a lounge downstairs that is open Thursday - Saturday! Roasted oysters is a must have, martini with okra is great but very strong!
Great vibe and service. Crispy alligator was good for novelty value but could have been fried anything. Pasta rags with pork ragu was large but tasty, and the grits with the shrimp are amazing.
A great dining room hidden in plain sight. Food and cocktails are both decent; strong showing for the neighborhood. Be adventurous and try the alligator.
My advice: go for drinks at the bar and an app (roasted oysters) or dessert (cashew beignets). The entrees feels like they tried to hard and a little too decadent to enjoy.
Keep coming back for the food but please someone do something about the service! The savory beignets, croquettes and the roasted oysters were great. The alligator bites were just ok.
I ordered some fish and it was placed on top of some really delicious, succulent vegetables. The fish itself was somewhat dry, and wish the sauce it was on had been dribbled over it.
Don't you love New Orleans cooking? It's beautiful layout and mosaic tiles, and good food, will make this place a regular destination for all food lovers.
A cozy urban bar and lounge serving New American fare, late-night bites, and craft cocktails featuring live music, happy hour specials, and private event space in the heart of the Flatiron District.
