Sorry, SoCal, but San Francisco takes the cake for best ice cream in the state. This Mission District hot spot draws lines any time of day, any time of year. The salted caramel is one of a kind. Read more
Their ice cream is amazing, and the cashiers are really nice about giving you samples! Highly recommend the Honey Lavender and OrangeCardamom. Salted Caramel sample was too sweet imo
Salted caramel & strawberry balsamic! Also black sesame and strawberrycoconut. Honey lavender was too soap-y or maybe it was just a bad combo & needs to be enjoyed on its own
This place is so good! Very unique, and original! That huge line, is worth waiting for! I had the ginger and honey lavender and I loved every bite of it! Best ice cream I've ever had can possibly have
You can't go wrong with classic flavors like ricanelas or roasted banana, but don't overlook their seasonal offerings either! The renovated space has a few seats too if you need to get out of the sun!
Very tasty ice cream, creamy and soft, but with huge demand. Expect long queues. Great location. Definitely worth the wait. Grab and ice cream and enjoy it by the park. 3 out of 5 cones
Oh my lanta! Wednesday's soft serve flavors - peanut butter and banana are amazing. Flavors get a bit lost as a swirl so perhaps enjoy separately. Soft serve window opens at 3pm on weekdays.
I got a double cup with three "small" scoops of honey lavender, basil and balsamic strawberry. Oh.Em.Gee. The scoops were huge and the taste of each is perfection. You can taste some before ordering.
Mix and match flavors like green tea and balsamic strawberry with fixings like graham crackers, spiced pecans, and almond toffee—or go a more purist route with a scoop of salted caramel. Read more
The chocolate ice cream was smooth & sweet to perfection while the hazelnut with dandelion chocolate's cocoa nibs was like cold heaven in my mouth. I will definitely go back there. Read more
You can't pick a bad flavor! Totally worth the wait in line for salted caramel and toasted coconut. Their ice cream sandwiches are also yummy! Head over to the park once you've ordered and enjoy!
The veganchocolate coconut is my favorite! This is a double I got with mint chocolate chip. Fabulous! Always positive people behind the counter which makes the wait worth it.
While everything in this place is pretty mouth-watering, sample a few of their seasonal flavors like cherryalmond, balsamic strawberry or Sonoma honey. Then just get all of them in one cone. Read more
Can't go wrong with ANY flavor here!! My faves--salted caramel, creme fraiche, balsamic strawberry, brown sugarcaramelginger swirl!! Awesome ice cream. Be patient. Line goes quickly. Worth it.
I only had the pleasure to visit this establishment once, but that's all you need to experience pure bliss in ice cream form. I recommend the banana splitsundae; you can't go wrong with classic.
Pleasantly surprised that the soft serve is even better than the scoops in that they are not as sweet. This is the Pumpkin. I recommend not mixing flavours cos they tend to be more subtle.
Always try the seasonal flavored. Maltedvanilla is very good - it isn't just vanilla. Has peanut brittle, yum! Expect a line, but it moves quickly and is worth it.
Everyone loves salted caramel ice cream but I personally love roasted banana! Really strong banana flavors. It's busy so prepared to wait in line for like 20 mins or so.
Don't let the long line discourage you, it tends to move quickly. Salted Carmel is amazing. You can alway pick up a pint at the their store down the road instead of waiting.
The ice cream is good here. Check out the seasonal flavors. Flavors like "balsamic strawberry" and "Blue Bottle coffee with alfieri almonds and chocolate chips" are intriguing and nice.
Got the salted caramel and roasted banana, salted caramel was AMAZING with a rich complex flavor profile (sweet, salty, bitter) and the toasted banana was VERY banana-y.
You can't go wrong with the ice cream here. All the flavors I have tried have been excellent. Try the brownie sundae. Roasted pecan clusters really make this indulgent treat.
Yoga in Dolores Park on Sunday mornings conveniently ends when Bi-Rite opens. Perfect opportunity to get a scoop before a line begins to form. Ice cream: breakfast of champions.
I love that they have such unique flavors! My favorite is the rincanelas. The ice cream cakes and pies are good as well, especially the grasshopper pie!
They often list ice cream combination recommendations, but ask your ice cream scooper if they have any personal faves you should try! I love the cookies & cream + mint combo (tastes like Thin Mints!).
The hype is big and the line is always around the block. While lauded for the Salted Caramel, I find it overrated—go for the Balsamic Strawberry, Honey Lavendar, or anything involving brown sugar.
Skip the line! You can skip the line if you are buying pre-packaged goods. This includes candy, cookies, pints of ice cream, and best of all: ice cream sandwiches! Single serving, no wait, delicious.
Skip the line of 80 hipsters waiting in 45 degree weather for ice cream & instead get a pint to go in your car and enjoy it in peace at home. (assuming you are one of those who have a car and a home.)
Brown Sugar, Ricanelas, Salted Caramel, Cookies & Cream. (You're welcome) Also, check out Oink for the top rated items by all sorts of people. It works great at Bi-Rite where tons have Oinked items...
