Compared to the overpriced, waiting-line-only affairs you'll find a few miles north, the Big Sur RiverInn is a quaint, old-California establishment with good people, tasty food and happy living.

This place has nice rooms overlooking the Big Sur River. Quiet and isolated, the inn boasts not having any TV or phone services, but it's funny that I can still get WiFi internet service here.
The potato skins were good. Thr Roasted eggplant is a misleading name for what the dish actually looks and tastes like. But enjoyed both these starters.
We stopped at the Big Sur inn, but were treated very poorly by the hostess. The manager offered no apology and his final comment to us was "this restaurant is not suitable for people like you"
