Carretera Hiram Bingham Km 7.5, Machu Picchu, Cusco
Hotel · 21 tips and reviews
Ben Engen: The hotel is pretty standard as far as nice hotels go, but it's the location that makes it amazing. If you've come all this way you may as well go all-out.
Ben Engen: One of the best in the world and it shows through in many ways, although I think it's a bit overrated. Doesn't mean you shouldn't definitely go, however.
Peruvian Restaurant · Centro Histórico de Cusco · 12 tips and reviews
Ben Engen: Punches WAY above it's wait. The service, setting and food are fine dining standards but the prices aren't much more than a visit to a cafe. A must when in Cusco.
Ben Engen: Great place for a quick bite. Burger, drink and fries for less than 5USD is a steal. I had the plain burger which had herbs mixed in the patty and was quite good. The burgers aren't huge but filling.
Ben Engen: Despite the positive reviews I put off going because some sort of Peruvian-UK place looked weird to me. It was excellent, the stuffed pepper was possible the best thing I've eaten in Cusco.
Ben Engen: I delight in tearing apart folks claims that some place has "the best burger" but this place may actually have one of the better burgers I've had. I opted for the Frenchie. Check it out.
Ben Engen: Really nice setting and some amazing food but it's certainly on the pricey side. They also make box lunches you can take up to Machu Pichu which I wish I'd done.

Sandwich Spot · Miraflores · 656 tips and reviews
Ben Engen: Iconic sandwich shop in Miraflores that is always packed. Some of the best fries I've ever had, fresh thick cuts and fried up so recently that you'll come away with third degree burns.
Jirón dos de Mayo 253, Lima, Municipalidad Metropolitana de Lima
Peruvian Restaurant · 178 tips and reviews
Ben Engen: Great creative concept with their tasting menu, excellent presentation and good food. The touch with the art book at the end of the meal is great. All this being said, I was left a little underwhelmed
Ben Engen: A newer and very lovely little shop in Cusco. It's a tiny space but they also have things for take-away. Food offerings consist of sandwiches, a few pastries, and various smoothie bowls. Worth going.
Ben Engen: Very nice little deli with a great selection of meats and cheeses and a small lunch menu. Pricey even by U.S. standards but it's a nice setting and they have WiFi.
Ben Engen: Really informative museum to escape the rain in. I was particularly struck by how old some civilizations in this corner of the world were as well as the mummies.
Ben Engen: Great food, good service and a nice setting. But to me it just felt somehow inauthentic and I'm normally not bothered by the touristic nature of things.
Ben Engen: Good place to stop in for breakfast if you're looking for something a little more American (or in this case Australian). The place was surprisingly busy. Food was good and not too expensive.
Ben Engen: It's good but I was a little underwhelmed. I'd been craving ceviche and I was really expecting more from a dedicated ceviche restaurant. My pisco sour was really good.
Ben Engen: A really strong offering, especially for Italian in Cusco. Cozy small space warmed by the wood fired oven and decent food. The garlic bread from said over was particularly good.
Ben Engen: I just stumbled in. No frills, fill out what you want on your burger on the sheet. The burgers are quite good but it's pricey compared to Chakruna up the street. Though you do get a wee bit more.
Ben Engen: Happening place for cocktails and some better-than-you'd-expect small plates. Overall a great place but it felt just a wee bit too... kitsch for me.
Ben Engen: I hate to give such rave reviews to a mall but the setting of this place is gorgeous and deserves a visit. Go snag a table at one of the restaurants for sunset.
Ben Engen: I don't know what it is... My food was good, the view is great, service was attentive... But something about this place just rubs me the wrong way.
Ben Engen: A really cute Italian place trying but not succeeding at being a fine dining experience. Despite that, the food is good and the setting is nice. Not worth a special trip but if you're near by duck in.
Ben Engen: Good pizza is hard to come by in this corner of the world but these guys do alright. I don't think it's as good as the reviews imply by the nice ambiance makes up for it.
Ben Engen: It's Peruvian Chinese, mind you. So it's a wee bit different than what you might be expecting. That said I thought there were some interesting takes. Probably won't go back but it wasn't bad.
Ben Engen: I think I can safely claim to be an expert in the world's Irish pubs at this point. This is one of the better that I've been to outside of the First World. Not great... but one of the better.
Ben Engen: A decent hotel, probably one of the better options in town. Nice views of the river and the rooms are clean but incredibly spartan. Avoid the coffee.
Mexican Restaurant · San Antonio · 93 tips and reviews
Ben Engen: Mexican food, but... Peruvian Mexican. They have some nice takes on things. Not worth a special trip but if you're nearby and need a quick bite.
Ben Engen: I'd say it's the best pizza place on this stretch but that doesn't mean I'd go back. The pizza was good but the vibe of this whole street just annoys me. Touristy and kitsch.
Av. Elmer Faucett s/n (Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez), Lima, Lima
Hotel · Callao · 41 tips and reviews
Ben Engen: It's a fine hotel and given the weird flight timing through LIM odds are you'll find yourself here if you pass through Peru with any frequency.
