Much better than Belfast International!Upvoted Jan 1- The airport taxis at the rank outside will charge at least double what you'd pay a local firm. Tim MonroeMay 12, 2012Get there early to avoid disappointment. Like what I did this evening. Go me! (bmi great as always!) Some shops and cafes appeared to be closed - odd for 8pm on a Saturday?
If you're leaving for longer than a few weeks, do yourself a favour and have a pint of the black stuff. It tastes rank everywhere else...

If you are leaving on a weekday morning allow plenty of time for security checks. And try and be as prepared as the commuters :-)
Departures is pretty small considering the amount of people so is very busy. There is a severe shortage of seats!
There is very little seating once you get through security, so grab it quick!
Like all airports the parking food and drink are over priced to a captive audience. Still it has now grown up as an airport from the old portacabin days

- Security are thorough, so it's slow. I thought I was about to get a strip search!!
Peter McGurkJuly 14, 2013Don't know what people are talking about security delays. Busy peak holiday season Sunday afternoon, security took 9 minutes end to end. Seems ok to me!

Bogdan ZadorozhnyJuly 24, 2023The BA lounge is no more and the fast track mixes regular passengers in. Rather strange and inefficient airport.
Don't go near WH Smith in the lounge if your short on time- by the time they are done trying to upsell to you, you'll have missed your flight!
- There are two eating areas, a pub and a WH Smiths upstairs.
Use BMI check in machines to select seats for your whole flight on star alliance.
Convenient for getting to/from Belfast, but poor lounge area with lack of good eating options.
Gerry WaldronSeptember 10, 2018Changed layout. Now you can’t avoid going through duty free. Terrible crowds outside departure gates. Do yourself a favour and make a small purchase in the restaurant to get a seat.

Graham PattersonSeptember 5, 2011To get fuel for hire car when going from city you need to drive past airport and go to Tesco just south of airport entrance- One of the main sets of seats doesn't even have a TV screen showing departures. Should be looked into I think.

God the staff here are grumpy...especially check in at flybe and security - total jobsworths..
Shame about the new forced retail maze. But they all do it!
