Beer Garden · Downtown Portland · 126 tips and reviews
Carla Jean: The quintessential beer bar in downtown Portland. Bottle list is off the hook, but check out the taps first. Outdoor deck during the summer is where to be!
Carla Jean: Owned by the same folks that run Novare Res, this brewery and distillery offers excellent and interesting beer, as well as unique cocktails and bites to eat. Ambiance and uniqueness is where its at.
Carla Jean: The "big" brewery in town. Scheduled tours in their newly-expanded brewery are fun and include samples in the tour. Also, bottles of small releases that are hard to find for sale in the bottle shop.
Carla Jean: An excellent brewery in the "East Bayside" community - samples, bottles available. On Saturdays they host food trucks and play corn hole outside. Fun and delicious.
Carla Jean: Recently re-branded, Sebago is coming back strong with their new late summer/fall seasonal Bonfire Rye as well as their single-hop "Hop Swap." Always something interesting on cask, ask your server!
Carla Jean: Like artsy types? On Longfellow Square, this bar has a very unique atmosphere and great people. I've never gone in there and not had a fun conversation with someone.
Carla Jean: A place featuring absolutely awesome local food (menu changes all the time) and a solid tap list of local beer. Protip: A unique and not overcrowded place for brunch on Saturdays.
Carla Jean: Nice choice of local taps at the downstairs bar, and plenty of room for whatever kind of seating you'd like. Can be loud on weekends but it's a lot of fun to see what's pouring.
Carla Jean: They now have a new tasting room that's happening. Check FB or website for hours, but a different and funky side of the fermentables scene.
Carla Jean: Known for a very large tap list and eclectic atmosphere, this place is an institution. Order the buffalo wings or cheese steak, and wash it down with some Maine beer. FYI parking is a pain!!
Carla Jean: One of the oldest breweries in Maine. Always better on draught than in the bottle. Often there are cask choices, too. Worth a stop especially for the history.
Carla Jean: 20 minutes North of Portland in Freeport, Maine Beer Company is the makers of 'Lunch' an excellent IPA. However, I recommend you try MO, which I would argue is even better.
