- Nick BurtoOctober 16, 2014New American with an interesting mix of fusion. The Ringer cocktail has cinnamon & chilli, the Panna Cotta is green curry. Kale Salad didn't disappoint, the Pork was tender & delicious.
- emily chenNovember 18, 2015Probably one of the best restaurants I've been to in NYC. Non-pretentious, super affordable and delicious and cozy prix-fixe is the way to go.
- Kev SkinnyNovember 11, 2015We did the 5 course...never did the 7, but no need. They bring out 10 courses anyways. We were very happy with our meal. Very seasonal inspired taste. If your into that, the get the fk over there ASAP
- 7 course tasting menu was fantastic! Service and food quality = top notch. A great place to bring someone who you are introducing to the neighborhood (or Brooklyn for that matter)!
- CezaryDecember 9, 2012Delicious 5-course tasting menu for $65 (or 7/$85). The combinations are very original and have a vegetarian slant, with kale making an appearance twice. Setting is quaint + cozy. Highly recommended!
- The Corcoran GroupJune 13, 2013Ever encounter a menu so exquisite that you can’t decide what to order? Why not taste everything! This Brooklyn hot spot is now accepting reservations for its 5 and 7 course tasting menus.
- Alex RainertDecember 31, 2011The kale salad is fantastic and the duck pappardelle is amazing. If they're both on the menu, you owe it to yourself to order them. ps: the flatbread rocks too but don't be a piggy with it. Save room!
- Leang CSeptember 20, 2014Get the 5 course tasting menu - it's a great value at $75. Try not to eat all of the focaccia when it immediately comes out (it's hard); it goes perfectly with the sweetbreads sauce.
- jon ferrerAugust 23, 2014The tasting menu was insanely good - especially the kale salad and the sunchokes. Portions are a bit big on the tasting though, so wear some stretchy pants.
- CITY GRITAugust 9, 2014Chefs Walker Stern and Joe Ogrodnek are two of the best young chefs in the country! The Chilled Corn Soup alone proves their talent! We’re still dreaming about the Berkshire Pork.
- Cozy Smith Street place. Definitely Kale Salad. The pastas are house made & mine was served in a delicious, flavorful broth. Definitely dive in to the complimentary flatbread! Desserts not a must.
- Kika GMay 2, 2013To avoid waiting 5 million hours, make a reservation for the tasting menu. 5 courses is definitely more than enough. Don't miss the Kale Salad or the short ribs!
- perke perkeAugust 18, 2014Take the tasting menu, expect lots of goodies before your 5 courses even start arriving and after too. 7 course menu is for super hungry or super curious.
- @d_d_dunnJune 28, 2014Ridiculously good... The spontaneous tasting menu is the way to go. Walker and Joe show why they both won FWBNC!
- Every bite is a delight. Cauliflower appetizer, sweetbread, gnocchi and desserts were highlights of many. Perfectly balanced dishes.
- Erica GorochowJanuary 27, 2013Absolutely a pain to get into if you're not getting the tasting menu, but absolutely worth it. Go in at 5:30 to put your name down and expect to get seated at 9. Worth it.
- Sarah RoseApril 15, 2013Got there at 5:30 on the dot on Sunday and sat immediately but place got full fast. Hamachi crudo was awesome and so was the spaghetti ( with crab and toasted bred crumbs)
- Angie LeeAugust 5, 2013The tasting menu is a must here. The wine pairing is a great value but if you do it, be prepared to leave here more than tipsy.
- Hyomin KFebruary 27, 2013Overall delicious. Crispy kale salad is amazing. So is the homemade pasta w shrimp, chili oil and crunchy breadcrumbs. Yummm.
- For all you Battersby fans: the garden out back is now open! It basically doubles the seating capacity at this small place - expect a leisurely, but very tasty, meal as the kitchen & staff is tiny.
- CITY GRITAugust 9, 2014Be sure to start with the Damsel in Distress & The Six of Cups and save room for their unique twist on Banana Pudding!
- Leland SMarch 18, 2012Overall pretty good, if a bit expensive for Smith St. Dinner for two with cocktails, tax, tip, and a $40 bottle of wine: $180. Tasting menus are $65 or $85 (5 or 7 courses). Skip the octopus/chorizo.
- Serious EatsApril 11, 2013A charming (and tiny!) restaurant that brings its own point of view to seasonally-minded American cuisine.
- Helen LeeNovember 6, 2011I could eat the kale salad daily. The ricotta served with bread is light and airy and beautiful. This is a fancy pants restaurant in jeans.
- Rachel LandeMay 3, 2013Hands down #1 restaurant in BK. Every bite is just so delicious, you don't want to be done with your meal.
- Spencer FryAugust 16, 2012I liked everything about Battersby from the bread to the entree. Don't neglect sitting at the counter, for two people it's better than the two tops.
- Chet ManciniJuly 24, 20135 course tasting menu was exquisite. Excellent service, and the wine pairings are generous.
- Josue EvillaOctober 6, 2016Unfortunately I can't give this restaurant an 11. Stop reading reviews. Just go and order the chef's tasting menu, it's always amazing!Good luck getting a table though. It's a tiny place.
- MimiMay 4, 2012Fennel panna cotta, uni pasta, duck breast. Spontaneous tasting menu did not disappoint and much better than others in the same price range
- Joe GallagherFebruary 2, 2013Lemon poppyseed bread pudding with chamomile ice cream was almost as amazing as the "Orange Julius" dessert cocktail.
- DishEnvyOctober 2, 2012The crisp kale salad has gotten a lot of attention, and rightly so. But the chicken and white chocolate with berries also need to be ordered.
- Dave WolfJanuary 16, 2013Tasting menu is delicious. And a great value. But it takes 3 hours to get through all 7 courses.
- eric mortensenDecember 18, 2014Really enjoyed the tasting menu. The kale salad lives up to the hype.
- Martin MataMarch 14, 2013Definitely get the tasting menu. The chefs are doing some magical things in that tiny little kitchen there.
- Matt DorvilleAugust 10, 2014Go for the prix fixe. I don't usually say that but this one is worth it.
- Melissa RogersAugust 5, 2012The Kale Salad was featured in NY Mag's 2012 "Best Of" issue: kale with basil, cilantro, mint and a craaaazy vinaigrette.
- NearSay NYCJanuary 18, 2012Start with bread and whipped ricotta. Then Crispy kale salad. Deliciousness from start to finish.
- AndreaMarch 6, 2013Butter is yummy, skip the overrated Kale Salad and get the sea urchin spaghetti and short rib.
- Kirsten AlanaDecember 6, 2011DO NOT miss Krisp Kale salad if it is on the menu. The best salad I've ever had. Ever.
- Lois AFebruary 19, 2012Amazing service!! The kale salad rocks, as does the radish salad. This is a gem of a place
- Leland SJune 2, 2013If you're doing the wine pairings, do not let yourself be talked into a cocktail.
