Local places in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that any visitor should try to make it to. Good food, good people, good drinks and good fun. The city is so full of great local places, dont miss out on them.

Gastropub · Juneau Town · 67 tips and reviews
Brian Artka: Have not been here yet, but its run by the Bartolotta group, who have many great places around Milwaukee. I'm told the beer cheese soup is to die for.
Mexican Restaurant · Walker's Point · 72 tips and reviews
Brian Artka: Of the handful of great mexican cuisine around the area, this is by far my favorite. I always seem to get the "poor tacos" marinated pork, cilantro, onion on flour tortilla.

American Restaurant · Walker's Point · 52 tips and reviews
Brian Artka: Awesome place. Food is top of the line, and at a good price range. From the sandwiches and burgers for lunch to the unique entrees for dinner, this is a must visit while in Milwaukee.

Sushi Restaurant · Menomonee River Valley · 72 tips and reviews
Brian Artka: A nice sushi place on west side of the river by the third and fifth ward borders. Try the Screaming Tuna Signature rolls or the Wasabi Rolls. Very hot, very nice ;)
332 N Milwaukee St (at E St Paul Ave), Milwaukee, WI
BBQ Joint · Historic Third Ward · 105 tips and reviews
Brian Artka: Same owners as AJ Bombers, some damn good BBQ. It doesnt compare to Stubbs, or Iron Works in Austin, TX, but this is the next best thing. All the meats are good, I like the house BBQ sauce.

Market · Juneau Town · 227 tips and reviews
Brian Artka: You'll find sandwiches, soups, burritos, coffee, seafood, sushi, salads, chocolates, bakery, pitas, and much more here. You may also find some good items to take home with you. This place is great.
233 N Water St (btwn Buffalo St & 1st Pl), Milwaukee, WI
Gastropub · Historic Third Ward · 148 tips and reviews
Brian Artka: I once had a very very good steak here, but they are more known for the excellent beer. This is the Milwaukee Brewing Company's flagship pub and eatery. It screams local brews and deserves a visit.
275 W Wisconsin Ave (at Shops of Grand Avenue), Milwaukee, WI
Coffee Shop · Kilbourn Town · 23 tips and reviews
Brian Artka: Hands down my favorite local coffee place(s). Eric, the owner of Stone Creek has a mantra that him and all of this employees follow: Grow. Roast. Brew. Sip.
Brian Artka: This is the more popular coffee place (based on their expansion around the city), so if you cant find Stone Creek, Alterra is probably going to be the next step. Again, skip the chains, try the locals

Lounge · Juneau Town · 103 tips and reviews
Brian Artka: Elsa's has been here for years, and is THE upperscape burger joint in the city. I'm not sure why it took me so long to have one of their burgers, but they are delicious.
Brian Artka: Not a place to eat really, but for drinks and a unique experience, its great. You have to enter from the alley, and you need to tell a password to the bouncer to get in. When leaving, use the payphone
