- Geoff KimJuly 11, 2013If you're feeling brave enough, try the "coffin bao" - fried bao stuffed with fried chicken topped with condensed milk syrup and crushed peanut.
- Sam SOctober 9, 2016What more can I say that hasn't already been said? But seriously, try the tofu, even if you're health-averse. If you can't eat the buns (allergy?) they'll make you a bowl of meat on cabbage. Perfect!
- TomApril 18, 2016You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Everything is delicious. Special all week long, any 3 baos and fries for $15. The green tea with sugar cane is a very refreshing compliment.
- Chris AyalaNovember 10, 2016The prices are very competitive, and it's got a great alternative feel. This is a solid spot to get some grub when you don't feel like cooking and want a cool place to hang for a bit.
- Sam HMay 25, 2015Chairman Bao is a must! I'll say it's a bit overhyped now that you can get these types of buns anywhere for less but it's good place to try out if you're near union square
- Must get the Chairman Bao or the Fried Chicken Bao with a side of Taro fries. Service was great when I mentioned my peanut allergy. Not to mention the place is always playing some good Hip hop
- eat the buns there if you can - they don't travel terribly well. tofu and veggie buns are surprisingly excellent. get an apple soda for the side.
- Elvis RodricksMarch 1, 2018Eddie's place here walks the talk! Had the chairman, spiceland and uncle jesse. The spiceland was my favorite but the others were no way inferior. Stamp of approval here as the real deal!
- Larry LaBurrJanuary 22, 2015SO GOOD! Get the Taro Fries or the Bao Fries for a stickier, sweeter taste. The coffin fish bao is a bit sweeter than I could handle but the fish bao in general is out of this world good
- Wael HazzaziSeptember 19, 2014Some orders are really good, others are okay. Try to order one of each to get a taste first then pick your favorite. My favorite was Coffin Bao Fried Chicken followed by the Coffin Bao Fried Fish.
- The pro belly is still great but the fried chicken has been getting weirder and weirder over the past couple of years. Also they have not had taro fries the last three times i went :(
- TEV NYCOctober 9, 2012Steamed, fluffy buns. Gourmet, savory fillings. Find all kinds of scrumptious Taiwanese street food that’ll make your wallet and belly happy. And rejoice, almost everything on the menu is under $5.
- jennifer hanJuly 21, 2016the food is not traditional exactly, but the twists maintain the integrity and homey-ness of taiwanese eats. my favorites are the minced pork over rice and the birdhaus bao. hella gooood.
- Joyful BellyAugust 8, 2014Those little baos will be the death of me. Light, chewy but soft as a cloud, and bursting with flavor. If you've never had a pork bun, put down what you're doing and go get one.
- The Wall Street JournalApril 5, 2012The Birdhaus Bao is juicy and delicious, made with all-natural fried chicken brined overnight. The Chairman Bao, most popular, is served with cilantro, Haus Relish and Taiwanese red sugar. Read more
- Brigitte PerezMarch 19, 2016Hip hop music, chairman and birdhaus(spicy) bao. Fried fish bao was good too. Taro fries are the winner
- Alexa Mae AsperinSeptember 23, 2012Small buns but worth a try! The adobo is Delish... Much better than the broccolini. Taro fries rock! Try the lychee lemonade.. It's to die for (3 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
- Behrad EatsJuly 8, 2015Some of the best and most creative bao buns you'll ever have. Why choose one when you can try all?!
- Trendy place for a quick bite. The bao's are small, pricey, and delicious. Get the manager's meal if you're actually hungry. Pair it with the fresh soy milk.
- Nicole ChecoApril 21, 2015who doesnt love pork buns?😍 i tried the fried chicken one here and its delicious! Taste like dominican chicharron. I could have eaten 10 of them. Gotta.come.back.
- The Chairman and the Birdhaus baos. Pork belly or fried chicken. So simple but SO craveable.
- Elevine BergeOctober 4, 2014Hip hop and scribbled decor all over, almost too cool for itself..., but the taro fries themselves and a can of Apple Sidra drink is well worth coming for though!
- Kaitlyn WatsonAugust 22, 2015The pork belly bao and the fried chicken bao are too legit to miss. The vibes are chill and the food supreme.
- Brian StraussJanuary 31, 2019I love this place. Spiceland Bao was a spicy sweet crispy peanut-topped explosion.
- Chris CooksonJuly 31, 2015This is basically the entirety of Eddie Huang's soul condensed in to restaurant. Loud hip hop and amazing bao! pricier than what you can find in Chinatown but fun experience. Bathroom's kind of gross.
- Rachel ChengJuly 23, 2018every bite literally took you to another universe. both the chairman bao & the birdhaus, are honestly so so so good
- Dan KayeApril 2, 2013You can't go wrong with the Chairman Bao and the Birdhaus. The taro fries are good too. Be careful though. These little baos are more filling than they look.
- If it's your first time here, Chairman Bao for sure. But all the baos are amazing.
- Raven DorantesJuly 23, 2017EVERYTHING! But the fish buns were particularly wonderful and flavorful. Perfectly crispy and not heavy or overly fried tasting.
- Drew HartmanJuly 10, 2013Everything is on point but the "chairman" and the Steack Bao are the best. The fries are dynamite as well. I'm coming for that mayor title reeeeeal quick
- Most will go straight for the classic Chairman Bao (pork belly) or the obviously tasty Birdhaus (fried chicken). But do not sleep on the Broccolino (tempura broccoli). Extremely good.
- ✨Pun Bandhu ✨September 2, 2012This place is awesome. Loved Chairman Bao, although I prefer my pork belly crispier, don't like chewing on fat (though many do). Stay away from oyster Bao. Not as flavorful, oysters almost raw.
- The chairman bao, birdhouse bao, and taro fries are a must. You really can't go wrong, everything's great here.
- Gradie OakesFebruary 17, 2012Count on the Chairman to have Linsanity. Order the Te-Bao: Taiwanese pork chop with curry seasoning, pickled daikon-carrot, jalapeno, aioli and cilantro, served in a Bao. $3.95 of awesome.
- American Eagle OutfittersFebruary 24, 2012There's no better place for a cheap and delicious meal. Try the Haus Bao (steamed bun with beef cheeks, crushed peanut, cilantro, and relish) as well as the taro fries!- Brittany, Assistant Buyer
- Sophie OmnomJuly 2, 2016All the bao are phenomenal, and don't miss the taro fries 😍 or bao fries (esp with black sesame sauce)
- Jorge A. GuzmanApril 12, 2015Chairman bao and the birdhaus are my favorite! I can't get enough of this place. Also the apple soda is bomb.
- Harrison Hoang LuuAugust 7, 2014Eh is the best word to describe this place. But the girl in front. Yum. Sorry. But she's so hot. Oh and they make some sort of delicious juice. I don't really remember what it is.
- Vicky SimmonsMay 10, 2016Everything is delicious. Drink the Lang Lang green tea lemonade. Pop next door to the nugget shop after.
- I actually prefer the Haus Bao (beef) over the Chairman Bao (pork belly). It's a lot less fatty. Get it with taro fries and Apple Sidra. Perfect Taiwanese meal.
- Gary HorMarch 18, 2013Get the Birdhaus Bao! The fried chicken tastes so freaking good, you'll want more! Each bite is a burst of flavours that you'll never forget. Food memory potential!

http://www.delivery.com/menu/Baohaus_E_14TH_ST - COOLHAUSJuly 15, 2012If you've never been to Taiwan and tried gua baos, don't worry because this is better! Chef Eddie Huang has turned the traditional bao into a NYC staple that we just cannot resist.
- Taro fries are a must. Wish the menu revamp would have included the Brocolini Bao, but can't really go wrong with the Chairman either.
- Alina RodriguezSeptember 12, 2015Place is pretty small and a little sketchy. But the Chairman Bao, the fish bao, and taro fries are amazing
- CarolAugust 25, 2015Fun staff and chill vibes. Baos are average size (meaning small), but delicious and pricey. $4.05+tax for 1 Mr. chairman bao
