Delicious eggs Norwegian with superb smoked salmon and amazing waffles (with the best berries coulis ever!). A wonderful French brasserie with quality service.
One of the hippest restaurants in Manhattan, Balthazar is never short of activity. Highly recommended are the steak tartare, croissants, mussels, and frites. Truly a touch of Paris in Manhattan!
I had the Balthazar barsteak. Can I just say that this was one of the most tender and succulent steaks ever! You have to try the bread pudding too. Soooo good. A+ for this French hot spot!
Get the Steak Frites. Great place to people watch. This place gets busy so parties of 3+ probably need a reservation. The staff is accommodating and attentive. Has a lively atmosphere.
Walked in on a Sunday morning after being eyed up and down by the host to evaluate if we "fit it". Great food though and wonderful service. The place to see and be seen on a Sunday morning.
Best Nut-Topped Doughnut: Banana-Pecan Cakedoughnut. The banana element is subtle but present; between the sweet, delicate crumbs and the toasty chopped pecans, it's an incredibly tasty specimen. Read more
Fantastic atmosphere and good food - visit in the weekend - excellent brunch and dinner, lots of people and party atmosphere. Very strong cocktails😳🤪Fantastic spot.
The service was poor for the price you pay. Our aperitif (champagne) came half the way of the starter instead of relax drinken before your starter. There was no butter-knife.Fries to much well done.
Bar seating is first come first serve, usually a better chance to get seated during peak hours than the dining room. Also, highly recommend the scrambled egg in puff pastry for brunch.
NY. Whether you are grabbing a croissant to go or dining in the restaurant, this is one of our go-to spots. Balthazar is a chic space for a business lunch & intimate enough for a personal dinner, too.
This place is famous for its brunch-- and for good reason! Its elaborate French dishes and bread basket from its own bakery next door make for a lovely Parisian-style meal with friends and family.
The name alone is one of my favorites! Be sure to make reservations ahead of time if you want to indulge in some great french creations! I suggest the 'Duck Confit' for a dinner entree!
Went for breakfast, really enjoyed the avocado and poached egg on toast. When ordering eggs benedict though, the small option is small - just one egg portion on a small side plate!
At dinner, the place is perennially packed with rail-thin lookers dressed to the nines. But the bread is great, the food is good, and the service is surprisingly friendly. Read more
LOTS of tourists! But the food really is delicious... The onionsoup is one of the best. Moules frites were fresh but the mussels were underwhelming. Fries are great!
The quintessential NYC French Bistro. With a beautiful wine selection, delicious dishes, and incredible people-watching, it's no wonder it has become a city staple for visitors and locals alike.
If you sell French pastries, you should also make sure the people at the front know what they sell. Restaurant part is good but requires reservation in advance. Very good risotto!
the best value on the breakfast menu is the $5 soft boiled egg with soldiers. it's surprisingly filling and you get the added bonus of feeling a wee bit british.
A timeless French-American bistro with tiled floors, red leather booths, and a marble counter. The raw bar and steak frites are superb, as is the French wine list. (001 212 965-1785; about ₤60 a head)
While touristy, French classics with Basque flourishes mostly please. We loved the crisp Berkshire pork belly with creamy grits ($29) and the decadent chocolate pot de crème ($9). Be prepared to wait! Read more
Flourless Chocolate Cake - perfect in its own way, dark chocolate. On the sweet side, it satisfies cravings and morphs into another creature completely when warmed and topped off with a pour of cream. Read more
Book ahead or wait on weekends even at 9.30. They served breakfast by request after 9 even though brunch menu is on. Granolayogurtfruit $15 and scone $5 both good not great
The pinnacle of French bistro in the heart of SoHo boasts one of the most extensive wine selections in the city. Try out one of the twenty or so Bordeauxwines. We promise you won’t be disappointed!
I love the lighting here! They manage that yellow glow that momentarily transport you to Europe for just a bit.. The food and ambience are great as well.🍻
You really can’t go wrong in this classic French bistro transplanted in SoHo. Reservations are definitely a must as the restaurant is typically packed at all hours of the day.
Love their French bread! Pain au chocolat, croissant, an the restaurant is very authentic! French onion soup is thick, confit de carnard is very tasty. Seabass, escargot... You name it
Classic and the rest is history! Certainly every bit and bite shows exquisite creativity and the use of inspirited techniques tied to the best organic ingredients!
