Ask for the running map! Nothing beats getting sweaty on an early Californian morning. Roxbury Park is the closest and by your second morning other joggers and dogwalkers start saying "hi" to you.
While you stay here, you start to feel like you're back in the Golden age of cinema. The staff is very professional and outgoing. Everything one comes to expect from Viceroy.
Good Hotel with amazing staff, good place near rodeo drive for shopping, Urth for breakfast, and To visit beverly Hills. Easy To Go to Hollywood, parks or Venice !
If you're interested in joining a wine club, Swirl @ Avalon holds a unique series of wine-related dinners and tastings. Once you've attended one of their events (bit.ly/HWLA2013), membership is free!
The design is different from other normal hotels. I like there design but I will not back again because the smell is so bad and when you be in the room you will clearly hear everything near.
Whether you're staying for the night or just dining at Oliverio, explore all of the Kelly Wearstler designed digs including the lobby and poolside cabanas. Pure California cool.
BEWARE!!! Great location and vibe but the Happy Hour is anything but. The menu is very deceiving - only a few items are specials (check the fine print) and martinis cost 18 dollars.
http://www.destinationluxury.com/filter/los_angeles#892449/Hotel-Avalon-Beverly-Hills-Ca Makes you want to take a couple days off and just sip hum & Ginger by the pool
Very contemporary location for photo shooting in LA. FYI no free wi-fi hotspot. Text me a pic of the gold sculptures in the lobby for a free 'avatar photo shoot' at the studio. 562-299-7504
As a place to hang, it is cool. As a place to stay it is overpriced. The rooms are basically motel rooms with many items not working. The blinds are broken, the beds uncomfortable and $9 for water
