It can get a little crazy in here because it's a good value and BYOB. Order your food first, then ask the hostess to put your name down. Owners were friendly and introduced themselves to the noobies.
"People of all ages, ethnicities, and economic brackets are drawn by a powerful common denominator: fresh fish, prepared simply and sold at a fraction of what it costs almost anywhere else." Read more
Process: Pick some fish, give them to the cashier, choose grilled or fried + sides, give them your name, find Helen and tell her your name and party size, wait outside to be called, sit down and eat.
2nd time. Octopus and soft shell crab clear winners. 2nd time we’ve concluded fish unnecessary. Check if crab salad is made with real or imitation that day. Getting real crab next time.
Unbelievable hidden local gem in Astoria. You choose whichever and how much of the fresh seafood and then order how you’d like them prepared. We feasted like royalty! They serve you each dish.
It is like a small cantina; you pick-up fresh sea food like in a fish shop; they will cook it; the quality is very good. You can also bring your wine or buy beer from the shop nearby.
Ordered 3 different kinds of oysters, fried sardines,grilled calamari,king Prawns,scallops,6 lobster tales.All the above in portios for 4-5 people.Plus 2 grilled groupers,salad and fries.Only $160.
Absolutely love this place. You walk around and pick out all of the fresh food you want, then bring it to the counter and tell them how you want it cooked. The best part? BYOB
Affordable, delicious seafood. Fried calamari, grilled garlic shrimp, baked fish (sea bass), and salad. Free unlimited garlic bread. BYOB, they have bottle openers and cups. Go early, it gets crowded
A seafood market that is also a restaurant. Fresh seafood, cheap, and grilled nicely but it is always crowded and very unorganized. Nevertheless good things come to those who wait.
Came here on a Wednesday night, the place was packed. We had red mullet, red snapper, and some fried calamari. Everything was good. Friendly service.. next time I should bring my own sauce for fish :p
BYOB and choose what you are eating, that's as good as it gets here, be sure to pick some octopus and shrimps, ask them to grill your choice of food, it is the best.
Delicious, fresh seafood. Super affordable, but don't expect great service. Came here on a Saturday night and spent 3-4 hours here waiting around more than actually eating.
Hidden gem. Choose fresh ingredients by the pound and the house cooks it for you. Very delicious and affordable. Often long lines in the weekend. It's also BYOB🍷
All Seafood is amazing but since I had to wait 2 hours outside after ordering - I guess it’s not worth it. I heard that you have to come any day but Friday or Saturday to avoid waiting for long time
Chaotic experience with lackluster attention - food is good but there are others in Astoria that are essentially the same set-up but better in organization and service (ex abuqir)
