American Restaurant · Main Street Merchants · 7 tips and reviews
Anders Sjöstedt: In another bungalow on the edge of Towles Court, this excellent breakfast/lunch place serves affordable goodies and a quite accepptable latte.
Anders Sjöstedt: This big maze of an antique thrift store offers a bit of everything, from newer pieces to quite interesting antiques. You'll have to be your own expert, but the bargaining potential is usually good.
American Restaurant · Laurel Park · 12 tips and reviews
Anders Sjöstedt: You usually only find this in a larger city. Superb dining, locally sourced produce and knowledgeable staff. Book a porch (or front room) table - the wine bar in the back is newer and less enchanting.
Anders Sjöstedt: In beautiful Towles Court, with galleries and century-old wooden villas. Have lunch, coffee or a cool afternoon lemonade in this pleasant 20s bungalow with cozy garden and well selected design shop.

Italian Restaurant · 5 tips and reviews
Anders Sjöstedt: A surprisingly tasty Italian restaurant in an anonymous strip of shops on Tamiami Trail. For lunch, try the "meat fountain"! For dinner, best to book. Excellent home-made pasta and burrata.
Anders Sjöstedt: A central gathering point for Sarasota's Amish population (yes). Come hungry, as plates of meat loaf and apple pie are HUGE. Marvel at the Amish romance books in the shop. Who knew? Prepare to queue.
Anders Sjöstedt: Uninspiring Interior with the usual bad coffee shop art - but the brew is solid and they don't burn the milk in your latte (140 degrees, folks, not more or you kill the sweetness).
