This seafood restaurant is a find for those who straddle the downtown and South of Market area. The menu divides the bivalves by coasts and there are five from the west and four from the east. Read more
Hidden in a dark alley this seafood restaurant stands out from many in the city. It has a bar with a happy hour menu featuring $1 Oysters and a wide selection of syncretic beers on tap.
I knew this was the right place when we saw the beer menu. Best oyster I've ever had—I cherished the shell as a keepsake until I realized that was weird. Everything was AMAZING (except the snails).
Pretty sure these are the most potato tasting French fries I've had in awhile. The beer and wine list is huge, whatever cocktail I had tastes like cool-aid, in a good way, and free chips with aioli.
My first time there, but my clam chowder and home-made seafood pasta with shrimps and scallops are both excellent. And that Sauvignon Blanc wine... I don't normally like white wine, even.
BEST CLAM CHOWDER EVAH! Made w/ bacon base! Quite thin not thik & pasty like chowda made w/ heavy cream. You can really taste flavors of the individual ingredients. Try it for sure with bread to dip
We were here for oysters during happy hours. And I was extremely happy with the freshness of oysters. It's juicy, tasty with hint of sweetness and saltiness. You don't need any dipping sauce!
Free house made crisps with aioli & crispy calamari with Thai spicy sauce were best. Skip Branzino Crudo & mussels. Get chocolate fondant & strawberry shortcake
Amazing service. The Angels on Horseback is absolutely delicious... Crispy bacon wrapped around perfectly cooked oysters. Will definitely be back to this place!
Raw Oysters, daily menu, waiters recommend great wines bc they know what they are talking about, try "oysters on horseback" and top it off with a little of every dessert on the menu!
Get the best of all worlds with their seafood plateaux (M.P., available in small, large and grand), piled high with oysters, shrimp, crab remoulade and beyond. Read more
I love everything about this place... food, drink selection and the true friendliness of everyone. Great to grab a bite after watch belly dance show... make sure to make reservations.
Great place for a power lunch. Full service menu and I'm always out with 35-45mins with a full and happy tummy! Try the calamari and Seared Tuna (olive tapenade is fab)
Everything is divine. Must haves: oysters, beet salad, salmon tartare, softshell crab sandwich, THE FRIES, and the dark chocolate mousse. Absolutely sinful! And a gorgeous space. Loved every bite...
Generally, I order Crab wherever I go, but I have never seen or consumed one this size before. Wonderful. Oh and the Beers and selection? Out of this world.
Upscale seafood in a converted warehouse. It’s great for a business lunch – try the “Angels on Horseback” and the Lobster Roll with a side of Stevie’s Coleslaw.
Came here during happy hour. Super busy, but we were able to make a reservation ahead. Love the oysters and Angels on Horseback, but most fried food was a bit salty.
Lunch Service is a bit slow, somehow the draft beer is also always a bit flatter than it should be. This was the 3rd time in a row both this was true sadly.
Amazing service. Food came out "later than they wouldve liked" and they offered a free round of drinks to "pass the time". How many places can say the same?
Anchor & Hope is a West Coast Fish House located in a renovated turn of the century artist’s warehouse. Each day, they feature a broad selection of oysters, shellfish & local fish and serve 16 different beers on tap, another 75 bottled that marry well with fish and seafood.
