Loved this bar! Stopped in while waiting for death and co and couldn't be happier. Bar tender was super friendly and attentive even with the crowded scene. Drinks are potent, stop in or stay a while!
Intimate cocktail joint with very cheery and knowledgeable barstaff. Insane collection of bitters most available for purchase there as well. They do an omakase style event monthly!
Super cutecocktail bar. Try the sharpie mustache or Manhattan. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends so come earlier in the week or you'll be standing in a corner with a fifth in your hand.
My favorite cocktail bar in NYC. Cozy, strong and delicious drinks, and friendly staff who know how to mix bitters. Love the floor tile in here too. Get the Sharpie Mustache or My Old Piano.
One of the best bars in town, but it's not just for things that go dark & stirry in the night! Weekend Double Buzz brunch (coffee & Amaro cocktails!) is the most delightful hangover cure ever.
Don’t let crowds scare you away; Sother & team crank out more cocktails per square foot than any bar in the city, so you’ll never wait long for a drink 🥃 No shaken drinks but you won’t miss them!
Easily best small bites + big bitters spot in the city. The Double Buzz is one of my favorite weekend things to do in my old 'hood...can't go wrong, can go shopping for bitters surrounding you!
Spirituous, balanced, exemplary. These drinks will show you flavors you never knew existed in booze, and will drop you on your ass if you're not careful. Always excellent bartenders. Tight on weekends
Perfect for a person with a special place in their heart for bitters. They have a wide variety, you can taste any of them for free, and you can buy them there after enjoying a cocktail! Fantastic.
(Thrillist tip) Seating here isn’t plentiful, so come early and get the 8 Amaro Sazerac, a "House Favorite," which mimics the original beautifully while ditching the rye whiskey altogether
If you like bitter cocktails go, I am not a big fan of them but my wife is and she rated them as perfect so I will give them a great comment. Its always packed on weekends!!!
Small bar in the Wast Village specializing in bitters (amari and cocktailbitters). Intimate, friendly setting staffed by passionate, knowledgeable staff who always make you feel welcome.
Favourite bar for the bitters fiend in you. If you love old-fashioneds and negronis, even the fancy award winning bars nearby ain't got game compared to these guys.
Somehow their lame cocktails cost 20$ each. And the auto 20% tip is pretty ballsy when you order from a counter and bring it outside yourself. With tip, 2 SIMPLE cocktails and mandatory nuts cost 48$
Small cocktail bar in the East Village with an emphasis on their house made bitters. Solid cocktails. Worth stopping in for a drink if not too crowded.
Amor & Amargo is not a newcomer but they've hit their stride, serving all manner of homemadebitters and elixers. Try going on a weeknight to avoid the crowds, as the space is rather diminuitive.
A tiny place with a few places on the bar and standing room. Good option when others are full (though it also gets full fast). Drinks are expensive for such an informal place ($15) but good.
This place has a tonne of unfamiliar spirits from Italy & France as well as the favorites, there’s something here for everyone. Here's our review http://barchick.com/find-a-bar/new-york/amor-y-amargo
Beautiful space and amazing herbaceous cocktails - just follow the menu and ask the tender for guidance. Only problem: hard to reproduce at your neighborhoodbar.
For something on the light side, get a gin & tonic. For something more adventurously bitter, get a smoky cocktail. I promise you've never had a drink like this before.
The Expatriate is a fantastic drink, in a tall glass with just the right amount of ice. Space is small, so no groups. Put your name down at Death & Co. first then come here to wait it out.
“A ‘dealer’s choice’ Old-Fashioned included habanerobitters and mescal. It tasted like smoke and intrigue—or, one drinker suggested, bacon and fried onions.” Read more

Small bar with only a few stools but they take their cocktails very seriously with home madebitters and old style spirits. One for cocktail enthusiasts incl a store of related products.
With room for just a couple seats, this bitters-centric outpost can be both enjoyable and educational if you're not yet versed in the ways of bitters, amaros, and the like.
Wanted to like this place more than I actually did. Super small, so you're lucky to get a seat, even if you're sipping on a +12 cocktail. Drink (My Old Piano) was really strong.
This bar has one thing on its mind: bitters. Despite having fewer than a dozen seats, it's made a big name for itself as the mecca of all things mouth-puckering. Read more
Try the house gin and tonic, a complex cocktail with little in common with your garden-variety G&T. It’s one of our #100best dishes and drinks of 2011. Read more
