Brunch is so yummy! The main entrees are okay, but the sides-particularly the cheesy grits and bacon- are excellent. Only $5 for a plate of bacon too! What a deal! Will definitely be going back
I love eating at Alobar. It's my go to spot when I'm in a pinch and it never fails. Great food, many drinks to choose from and the ambiance is great to bring a date, loved one or friends. Read more
Visiting an artist friend in LIC, we tried this place 1st time. The kitchen is serious about the food. Nice atmosphere for an intimate chat. Everything we ate taste good.
Great entrees, whisky choices, and service! Jeff and Brian made sure we were very well taken care of with our large party. We'd come back again in a heartbeat. Cool neighborhood as well!
Great place to come for dinner or just drinks! Ambience is cozy and wait staff is friendly. Favorites were: Vernon smash cocktail, mushroom toast, and bone marrow! Crispy pork was divine as well!
It is a wonderful place for a breakfast. I love their "Benny" sausage dish. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Well designed space. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
The maple bacon popcorn is a no-brainer. I had the Prime NY Strip, which is both delicious and deliciously-priced. Solid ambiance. Definitely coming back, probably with a pretty girl.
Try the cheeses - the smoked ricotta is amazing as are the pickled peaches. And at lunch, they have a $5 glass of gruener veltliner. Definitely one of my LIC faves!!!
This place has a menu like you've never seen before! Between the Maple Bacon Popcorn and Vanilla Glazed Carrots, your stomach will be pleasantly surprised and completely satisfied.
Village Voice is proud to welcome Alobar to the 2014 Choice Eats food fest! http://bit.ly/1cRzdNV. If you 're a fan of the hog then you'll love this crispy pork belly.
this place is seriously delicious. fried chicken, baby back ribs and meat loaf all tasty. they put truffle salt on the fries, omg! wait staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy.
Whiskey Tuesdays: $8 drinks. "Barkeep's special" is a good choice. Not sure if it changes but tonight it included Red Stag and Jim Beam, among other things. Happy hour ends at 7 p.m.
Duck confit Sloppy Joe and Salmon Benny were especially good, a were the goat cheese cheesecake and sticky toffee cake. Only weird things were the fishy-tasting, truffle-oiled fries.
Recommended sandwiches include the popular duck confit "sloppy joe" with smoked ricotta, roasted garlic crostini, truffle, red wine onions and baby greens. Read more
The most AMAZING burger I've ever had... Battered bacon? YES please! Sloppy joe is ok, popcorn is good to try, bread pudding is good if you catch it made fresh.
If you find yourself in Long Island City, head here to sit in a comforting booth and chow down on celery gnocchi and a plate of thinly sliced fennel and salsify. Read more
AVOID lunch! I dine here often and love it. However, the phrase "3 strikes you're out" rings true for horrible lunch service. It's always the same waiter/bartender, now dubbed moody mustache.
