The Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory was founded in 1866 by Nikolay Rubinstein, a brilliant pianist and conductor. The Great Hall today is one of the famous concert venues in the world.
Surrounded by modern restaurants like Uilliam's, «I Love Cake» and Pavilion, Patriarch Ponds area is also one of the main settings of Mikhail Bulgakov's novel The Master and Margarita.
Besides the great view it's a meeting point for motorcycle clubs and street racers. There's a walkway down to the Moskva River only a few hundred meters away to the right.
