the restaurant near the top has got okay food, but the views will more than make up for it. even better on a cloudless moonlit evening–the moon will cast a huge light over lake michigan
Completed in 1969 & formerly called the John Hancock building, it was officially renamed 875 North Michigan Avenue in 2018. Also, Chris Farley was found dead in his apartment on the 60th floor in 1997
Best date spot in Chicago: Signature Room. Restaurant higher than the observation deck an Loung above that. Go 30 min before sunset for an experience neither you nor your date will forget. :-)
Barbie and I had an anniversary dinner at the Signature Room, and the only thing more beautiful than the view atop of Chicago was the girl sitting across from me.
The Signature Lounge offers the best view in Chicago and it comes at the price of a drink. Daylight and evening offer two distinct experiences so try and set aside time to come twice, it's worth it.
It is currently the fourth-tallest building in Chicago and the sixth-tallest in the United States. Have a beer or in "The Signature Room" on the 95th Floor.Amazing amazing views, even more at night. Read more
Designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill, the lead engineer, IIRC, was Fasler Khan, the same guy behind the bundled tubes concept used on the Sears Tower (and later reused by SOM for the Burj Khalifa).
The view of the city from the Signature Lounge (96th floor) is even better than that of Willis Tower, and you won't have to wait in line for three hours.
The lifts to the Signature room are at the back of the first floor (up the escalators). Get food or drinks in there and save yourself the observatory fee (arguably a better view too)
The back room is probably the best place to post up. The drinks are generous and reasonably priced. The serve of a rare brand of booze called "whiskey". Give it a try.
Went twice met great people both times...I love Chicago. what everyone says about the Ladie's Room is true - it's a shame I couldn't share the amazing view from there with my hubby (men's room has no
Maybe the only skyscraper in the world with a nice view, seated and with no fee to go up, to have a look on the city... Definetly wortj coming to the bar on the 96th floor!

The Signature Room on the 95th Floor offers some of the best views in the city, and it's free to get in. Drinks and food are expensive, but the experience is worth it.
Anniversary dinner, after dark, with the city lights as an amazing view. Dinner was incredible, as was dessert. Plus, the Sous Chef was nice enough to say hello to my wife, who is an Italian Chef! Read more
What was the last year the food was good here? Avoid fancy cocktails, just drink a scotch or whiskey you are familiar and especially avoid the overcooked surf & turf. Great views!!!
If you take a photo from the observation deck, turn off your flash. The light will only bounce off the glass windows and ruin your pic. This goes for daytime and nighttime pics.
The helix ramp on the E side of the bldg is the entrance to the garage, operated by Standard Parking. Hourly and daily rates are steep. You may want to look into a basic monthly pass starting at $305
Don't pay for the observatory! Get drinks and appetizers or desserts at the Signature Lounge--two floors above the observatory. You'll save some $ but the view is spectacular & the atmosphere is too!
The surf and turf is delicious, especially after some choice libations, but will not fill you up. Get a martini. Service is slow but friendly, but this works to your advantage while taking in the view
Skip the $ fee for the observatory and go one floor up to the lounge for a $$ drink that includes the view for free! To avoid the line, tell them you have dinnerreservations instead to get up faster!
