Incredible old New York vibe. A bit edgy and I love that. Tom the bartender is lovely and sings pretty songs upstairs sometimes. And they even let you bring in tacos from the delicious taco truck across the street.
A charming mix of old bar smell and new bar windows and sidewalk seating. Great people watching here and if you're the type, a bit of frosé in the warmer months.
ben mAugust 20, 2014Been here a bunch but once I took a first date here before seeing Sound Team and Cold War Kids at Mercury Lounge. That was 2006 and we are now married and have a daughter. It worked! Oh, have an IPA.- Neighborhood bar with a local charm has cool bartenders, reasonable prices, and an upstairs lounge with sofa and ottoman-style seating and floor-to-ceiling windows providing a great view outside.

Sit upstairs in the corner and look out over 2nd St & Ave A. One of the best seats in NYC to have a drink. Hint: don't try this one weekend.

Not sure it's deserves to be called a Dive Bar. If you get your hand stamp at Mercury Lounge beers are only $3. PS go up stairs already!
