- If you get to the top of the escalator and your not sure which way to go, the correct way is FORWARD!!
- StarJuly 11, 2019This station is so disgusting, and it’s gotten even worst. Last time I was there I saw a guy dumpster driving, and there was another guy sleeping facedown on the floor.
- NJT commuter? Try using the elevators to get to and from your track...especially when people are using the stairs in the opposite direction.
- Zaro's makes the best bagels n cream cheese. If the line is long on the upper track, go downstairs, there's another one!

- David GonzalezDecember 18, 2018this place is a zoo, panhandlers approach u & will try to go in your pockets if you say no to giving them money. avoid them at all cost. Amtrak needs to be more organized, regarding lines 2trains
- The 10:15PM almost always (99% of the time) comes on track 18. If you see it there, take a seat early :)
- Beware the gap. Get out of the way when you see someone running. Mind the sleeping hobos in the waiting room -- there's a reason why no one is sitting around that one person.

- When getting to Flushing-Main Street gets tough because the 7 is under construction... or when the N is too slow to Queensboro Plaza, get a $3.50 one-way CityTicket and get to Flushing in 2 stations!
- There's a shoe shine place on the main concourse on your way in from the main escalator

- Should consider walking to your destination instead of going through Penn Station
- As soon as you get in, take the A train straight to Room Service Thai Restaurant. Only a 4 min ride
- Just get some beer or wine to ease the pain of being in Penn Station.
- Penn Station first opened in 1910 and is the biggest intercity train station.

- Kate ReillyApril 8, 2011Dont take the bike taxi! I know the taxi line is long and the bike taxi guy is kind of cute, but seriously, its not safe. Dont take the bike taxi.
- If traveling before a holiday give urself extra time cuz it can get extremely crowed and hectic
- Considering how many bodies this thing moves every day it's pretty impressive. The shops don't suck either. There are decent places to eat and drink if you are in the know.
- Check the schedule BEFORE you get here. Especially on the weekends.

- Keep head up, look straight and walk to avoid being cut off it works.

- Don't leave your bag alone while you go get KFC to stuff in your fat face, or the po po will scold you.
- The better pizza is the place closer to the 8th avenue part of the station.

- Check out Tracks bar and take advantage of their happy hour. Very reasonable for midtown.
- Taking NJ Transit? Use the ticket machines all the way in the back. Hardly ever a line.
- Take a train to Long Island, if you're into that sort of thing.
- A bro-hug and a windmill high five combo is not an acceptable form of payment on the train
